SAEDNEWS: Amid rising tensions between Iran and the United States, the Hebrew-language newspaper Israel Hayom reported that any decision by Donald Trump to resume military confrontation before the U.S. midterm elections could lead to a significant decline in his public approval ratings.
According to Saednews report, the Hebrew-language newspaper Israel Hayom stated that amid rising tensions between Iran and the United States, any decision by U.S. President Donald Trump to resume military operations before the upcoming U.S. midterm elections could significantly reduce his public approval ratings.
The report also noted that oil prices reversed their recent downward trend this week, climbing as regional tensions intensified. The increase in energy prices is expected to affect consumers across the United States.
Meanwhile, the commander of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced late Tuesday that U.S. forces had carried out strikes on several locations in southern coastal areas of Iran.
In response, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a statement on July 9, claiming it had targeted what it described as the enemy's command and control center in West Asia and an air base in Al-Azraq, Jordan, with ten ballistic missiles. The statement warned that if the United States launched further military attacks, additional U.S. bases in the region would also be subject to Iranian strikes.
Separately, Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, said that the U.S. attacks on parts of southern Iran and the creation of an alternative maritime route through the Strait of Hormuz constituted a clear violation of what he referred to as the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. He added that if the United States abandoned all of its commitments under that agreement, Iran would likewise consider itself no longer bound by its obligations.
