Saed News: Iran’s Foreign Minister stated in a phone conversation with his Omani counterpart that the final agreement depends on ending what he described as the United States’ “maximalist approach” and its shifting and contradictory positions, emphasizing that Iran remains serious and steadfast in pursuing its legitimate rights and interests.
According to SAEDNEWS, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi held a phone call on Friday morning, discussing bilateral relations and regional developments.
The Iranian Foreign Minister, while outlining the latest status of diplomatic efforts mediated by Pakistan, said that reaching a final agreement depends on the cessation of what he called the US’s excessive demands and inconsistent positions, stressing that the Islamic Republic of Iran remains firm and committed to its legitimate rights and interests.
Araghchi praised Oman’s principled and responsible approach regarding regional peace and security issues, including its constructive role as a mediator in Iran–US talks, which, according to him, had faced American non-compliance. He also condemned US threatening rhetoric against Oman, stressing that Iran and Oman’s responsible measures to ensure safe maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz are based on international law and in line with global interests.
He further condemned the crimes of the Israeli regime in Lebanon and the occupied Palestinian territories, emphasizing the moral and legal responsibility of regional countries, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the United Nations to take urgent action to stop the aggression and ongoing genocide.
During the call, both sides also discussed ways to expand bilateral relations and strengthen trust, peace, and stability in the region.
