SAEDNEWS: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has called on UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres to condemn the recent violent riots in Iran sparked off by hired foreign-backed terrorists.
According to SAEDNEWS, In a letter to the UN chief, Iran's top diplomat said armed terrorists hired by outsiders used violence and committed acts of terrorism in the style of the Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group in Iran on January 8 and 9.
The foreign minister said the peaceful protests in Iran were hijacked by the terrorist elements, who committed various heinous crimes amid riots, such as decapitation, burning people alive, and widespread use of firearms.
Araghchi also called on the UN secretary general to condemn the terrorist activities in Iran.
Denouncing the US’ misleading and shameful claim to be supporting human rights in Iran, he said Tehran calls for opposition to all forms of foreign interference in Iran or threat to its territorial integrity and interests.
