SAEDNEWS: 17-Year-Old Girl Endangered Her Life Due to an Unusual Habit
According to Saed News website, translated by Rokna News Agency, doctors at a hospital in India successfully removed a 7-kilogram hair mass from the stomach of a 17-year-old girl.
According to the attending physician, the surgical team spent about six hours removing the large hair mass from the girl’s stomach. The patient initially went to the hospital complaining of abdominal pain and stomach-related symptoms. However, initial examinations and ultrasound imaging revealed a large mass of hair in her stomach.
During surgery, doctors encountered a massive accumulation of hair that had also remained inside the intestines.
The girl’s family stated that she had a long-standing habit of chewing and eating her own hair. Over time, the hair accumulated in her stomach because the body was unable to digest it.
The patient is currently hospitalized and under medical care.
