Saed News: The Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs said that an extensive meeting was held between Omani and Iranian delegations to review a set of principles governing the passage of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.

According to SAEDNEWS, Kazem Gharibabadi, the Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, wrote in explanation of his visit to Muscat: During the trip to Oman, leading a diplomatic and legal delegation, I met with Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, the Foreign Minister of Oman, and conveyed a verbal message from Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, to him.

This message was presented within the framework of ongoing consultations and positive cooperation between the two neighboring countries in various fields, and it addressed the ongoing Iran–US talks being conducted through Pakistan’s mediation, as well as efforts made to ensure the success of these negotiations.

After this meeting, an extensive session was held between the Iranian and Omani delegations to review a set of principles governing the passage of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, while respecting the security and national sovereignty of the coastal states of the strait and in light of applicable principles of international law.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Harthy, Deputy Foreign Minister of Oman for Political Affairs, along with a number of officials from both sides.
