SAEDNEWS: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi reminded regional countries of their collective responsibility to combat the threats posed by the Zionist regime.
According to Saednews, In a meeting in Jeddah on Tuesday, Araqchi and his Saudi counterpart talked about the relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia as well as the latest regional developments.
Praising Saudi Arabia for facilitating the transfer of Iranian Hajj pilgrims following the Israeli aggression and the consequent closure of Iran’s airspace, Araqchi said Tehran is determined to broaden ties with Riyadh in all areas of mutual interest.
He also praised the unified stance adopted by Islamic countries in condemnation of the Israeli and US military attacks against Iran, saying regional countries have a collective responsibility to combat the threats posed by the Zionist regime’s expansionism and belligerence.
The Iranian foreign minister also condemned the unrelenting Israeli crimes, the massacre of Palestinians, the occupation of the Islamic territories, and the recurrent strikes on Lebanon and Syria against a backdrop of the UN Security Council’s silence and inaction.
Slamming the Israeli atrocities as the root cause of aggravation of insecurity in the region, Araqchi said all sponsors and apologists of the Zionist regime are held accountable for those crimes.
For his part, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud reaffirmed his country’s policy of condemning the acts of aggression against Iran and the violation of its territorial integrity and national sovereignty.
He also stressed the need for more efforts to prevent an escalation of the situation and voiced Saudi Arabia’s readiness to contribute to de-escalation.
