SAEDNEWS: Below are images of Qajar-era women wearing scarves that have recently come back into fashion. Celebrities like Nazanin Bayati, Rana Azadivar, Mina Mokhtari, Parinaz Izadyar, and others have embraced this stylish scarf trend.
According to SAEDNEWS: during the early Qajar era, women's head coverings were a continuation of those worn during the Zand period. These included fine veils along with decorative caps or skullcaps adorned with various jewels. This style of head covering persisted until the reign of Fath-Ali Shah. Numerous miniatures from this period depict this type of headwear.
Women of that time would drape a sheer or beautifully patterned fabric loosely over their heads, securing it with strands of pearls, tiaras, feathered ornaments, jeweled headbands, and other accessories, similar to the style of Indian women. The long ends of the scarves would hang down behind them, and their long hair would be either braided or left loose over their back or shoulders. They would also style their bangs or forelocks into various elegant shapes across the forehead.
