According to SAEDNEWS: the art and craft of photography entered Iran in the late period of Mohammad Shah Qajar and experienced growth and development thanks to the comprehensive support of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar. The Shah’s support for photography led to the introduction of photographers into the royal court and harem, which for many years sparked the curiosity of the public. A large number of people who had never seen the Shah and imagined him as a superior, almost mythical figure, upon seeing his photographs, ended their fantasies, while some even regarded him as their equal.
