Did You Know Where in the World Red Grass Grows?

According to Saednews, Vibrant red Suaeda plants, also known as sweep weed, create a spectacular and unusual landscape in a city in China.

This area features shallow seas and tidal coastal wetlands that attract thousands of migratory birds to some of the world’s largest wetlands and reed beds.

Every autumn, approximately 26 kilometers of protected natural landscape turn bright red, creating an extraordinary sea of color along both sides of the Liao River.

These plants are among the few species of grass capable of surviving in highly alkaline soil. Their growth cycle begins in April, when they appear pale red. By September, when they reach full maturity, they develop their distinctive deep red color. During the summer, the plants are green.

The region is home to at least 236 different species of migratory birds, as well as 399 species of wild animals. This remarkable biodiversity makes the area a complete ecosystem of considerable environmental importance.

Migratory birds traveling from Asia to Australia stop in this region during their journey. Tourists are permitted to visit only designated areas equipped with suitable facilities and developed specifically for tourism.
