SAEDNEWS: Abandoned Sea Fort Turned Into a Hotel – Sea Fort, Attractions, England, England Travel, Abandoned Castle, Hotel
Originally built in the 18th century to help protect Britain from the naval forces of Napoleon III, these sea forts have stood abandoned for many years. However, three of them have now been transformed into stylish hotels and attractions.
Each of the three forts has been given a different purpose. Horse Sands Fort, for example, now serves as a museum. Spitbank Fort has been converted into a luxury hotel featuring eight exclusive suites, while No Man’s Land Fort is planned to become a larger hotel capable of accommodating more guests.
To preserve the historic character of the forts, each suite has been decorated with one of the fort’s original defensive weapons. Guests reach the forts by boat, with hotel staff providing transportation from the mainland.
Spitbank Fort, whose renovation has been completed, offers a range of leisure facilities, including a games room, spa, outdoor hot tub, and fire pits. From the fort’s deck, visitors can also enjoy spectacular views of England’s largest island. The project reportedly cost contractors more than $4 million.
