SAEDNEWS: Do you know what changes and events occur when you lie? In this article, you will see what happens when you tell a lie.

The Hidden Effect of Lying on Your Nose

According to SAEDNEWS, Researchers found that when a person lies, the size of the nose actually decreases. Although Pinocchio may only be a childhood story and myth, Spanish scientists at the University of Granada recently investigated the idea that the nose becomes larger after lying, and according to what will be explained in this section, they reached an interesting conclusion that is quite different from what was previously believed.

What changes occur when lying?

Dr. Emilio and his research team used a lie detector equipped with a thermograph. When participants lied and the researchers detected dishonesty, the temperature at the tip of their nose dropped by up to 2°C, while the temperature of their forehead increased by about 1.5°C. As a result, they concluded that when a person lies, the nose actually becomes slightly smaller.

Lying

Scientists have found that a drop in the temperature of the surface of the nose actually makes it appear smaller, although this is due to differences in human visual perception.

Dr. Milan explained the increase in nasal temperature as follows: at the same time, we experience feelings of anxiety and worry, which reduce the temperature of the nose and increase the temperature of the forehead.

In this study, researchers asked 60 students to perform various tasks while being equipped with a thermal imaging device.

One of these tasks involved a 3 to 4 minute interaction with their parents or friends, during which they had to tell a significant lie. During the call, they were required to fabricate a lie, and in this process, a “reverse Pinocchio effect” occurred, causing fluctuations in temperature in the forehead and the tip of the nose.

Interestingly, this modern lie detector found an 80% difference in body temperature patterns between these individuals and other students.

At present, these professional lie detectors are considered the most reliable type in the world.
