How To Stop A Nosebleed? | Ways To Prevent Nosebleeds

According to SAEDNEWS, nosebleeds are one of the common problems that many people experience at least once in their lifetime. Seeing or having a nosebleed can be frightening, but you should try to stay calm and do the things we mention.

What should we do with a nosebleed?

If you have a nosebleed, sit down and lean slightly forward. Keeping the head above heart level will reduce bleeding. Lean slightly forward so that the blood comes out of the nose instead of going into the throat. If you lean backward, you may swallow the blood and experience nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Using your thumb and index finger, press the soft part of your nose. This area is between the tip of the nose and the hard part of the nose, which forms the nasal septum. Hold this part of the nose until the bleeding stops. You should apply pressure for at least 5 minutes. If the bleeding continues, apply pressure again for 10 minutes continuously.

Prevention of nosebleeds

  • Keeping children’s nails short and preventing them from touching their nose

  • Neutralizing drying effects inside the home by using humidifiers during sleep

  • Smoking dries out and irritates the nose

  • Opening the mouth while sneezing
