SAEDNEWS: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian says Tehran has no conflict with its Muslim neighbors. He argues that it is the United States seeking to create divisions and turn friendly, brotherly nations against one another.
According to Saednews, During a meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in India on Saturday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that the instability in the region was the result of what he described as the hegemonic policies of the United States and Europe, as well as Israel’s actions, according to Press TV.
Pezeshkian stressed the need to deepen relations with neighboring and Muslim-majority countries, saying Iran would continue to develop these partnerships in a steady and practical manner.
Referring to the recent US-Israeli military campaign against Iran, Pezeshkian said Iran had been attacked without justification and that the conflict had resulted in the deaths of the country’s Leader, children, military commanders and scientists.
He also referred to attacks launched from neighboring countries, saying Iran had been forced to defend itself and target military facilities used in those attacks.
At the same time, Pezeshkian reiterated that Iran was committed to peace and did not seek further conflict. “We are not seeking war or the continuation of war,” he said.
He also opposed the involvement of outside powers in maintaining regional security, arguing that the countries of the region should be responsible for their own security and territorial integrity. “We do not need a gendarme in the region,” he said.
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, meanwhile, strongly condemned the US and Israeli attacks on Iran and reaffirmed Malaysia’s support for Iran’s sovereignty.
Anwar said Malaysia had clearly expressed its position from the beginning of the conflict, noting that the Malaysian parliament had strongly condemned the aggression against Iran.
He emphasized that Malaysia respected Iran’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty and reaffirmed Kuala Lumpur’s support for Tehran.
Praising the resilience of the Iranian people, Anwar said the determination shown by Iran’s government and population was remarkable. He noted that many other countries might have been defeated within a matter of days, whereas Iran had continued to resist.
Anwar also expressed support for expanding cooperation between Malaysia and Iran, particularly in the areas of trade, economic development and education.
