SAEDNEWS: Iran Condemns Israel’s Continued Military Attacks on Lebanon, Urges UN Action
According to Saednews, Iran’s Foreign Ministry has condemned the continued military attacks by the Israeli regime against Lebanon, including recent strikes on residential areas in southern Lebanon that reportedly killed and injured dozens of Lebanese civilians, including women and children.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the ministry praised the “resistance and steadfastness” of the Lebanese people in confronting what it described as the expansionism and occupation of the “child-killing Israeli regime.” It also reaffirmed Iran’s support for Lebanon’s efforts to defend its national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The ministry said Israel’s attacks and occupation of parts of Lebanon, along with what it described as serious war crimes, have occurred with the explicit support of the United States. It accused Washington of being the “main partner” in Israel’s actions in Lebanon and said those responsible should be held accountable.
Iran also criticized the UN Security Council for failing to respond to Israel’s military actions, warning that the continued escalation poses a serious threat to regional and international peace and security.
According to the statement, the Security Council’s failure to take action has weakened the credibility of the United Nations and encouraged Israel to continue its military operations and expand the conflict.
The Foreign Ministry called on the United Nations, its secretary-general and member states to take effective measures to stop what it described as Israeli aggression and war crimes.
It also urged the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to take stronger action and use its available resources to end the attacks and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry reiterated that the international community and relevant international organizations should not remain passive as the conflict continues. It called for concrete measures to end the hostilities and ensure accountability for alleged war crimes.
