SAEDNEWS: Renewed US Strikes on Iran Expose Washington’s Strategic Failure as Tehran Continues Retaliation
According to Saednews, A security analyst has warned that the renewed US attacks on Iran could push the conflict into a more dangerous phase, arguing that Washington’s growing military pressure has not succeeded in stopping Iran’s ability to retaliate.
Samir Puri, a lecturer in war studies at King’s College London, said the effectiveness of Iran’s counterattacks, along with its continued ability to launch strikes more than six months after the US-Israeli offensive began, was particularly worrying.
“There is no clear indication that Iran is running short of munitions,” Puri said, adding that the United States appeared to be seeking a public concession from Tehran. He warned that this approach could create further opportunities for escalation.
Puri also pointed to what he described as mixed signals from US President Donald Trump about Washington’s broader objectives in the six-month conflict. He said the lack of a clearly defined strategic goal was adding to the uncertainty surrounding the war.
Meanwhile, international support for Iran at this week’s Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit, including backing from China, Russia, India and other member states, showed that Tehran had not become internationally isolated, according to Puri.
He concluded that the United States appeared to be struggling to establish a clear and consistent strategy for achieving its objectives in the conflict.
