SAEDNEWS: A Russian network, citing Pakistani and Iranian sources, claimed on Tuesday evening that a ceasefire between Tehran and Washington could potentially be announced in the coming days.
According to Saednews, Russia’s RIA Novosti reported Tuesday evening that a ceasefire between Iran and the United States could be formally announced in the coming days.
Citing Pakistani and Iranian sources, RIA Novosti claimed that Tehran and Washington have reached an agreement on a ceasefire that would include freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
The report quoted a Pakistani military source and an Iranian security official as saying that the agreement had been reached. It added that, under the Islamabad memorandum of understanding, negotiations are expected to begin, followed by a new round of technical meetings.
Meanwhile, Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi said Tuesday that he hoped a temporary maritime passage through the Strait of Hormuz would soon be announced, followed by a permanent solution to the issue.
