SAEDNEWS: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi emphasized the importance of harnessing the economic and commercial potential of Iran and Tajikistan to further strengthen and expand bilateral relations.
According to Saednews, Iranian Foreign Minister Araqchi met with Tajikistan’s Minister of Energy and Water Resources Dalir Jum’a and Minister of Transport Azim Ibrohim in Tehran on Saturday, as both sides emphasized strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The ministers discussed expanding ties between the two countries, particularly in the economic, commercial, energy, and transport sectors. Araqchi highlighted the deep historical and cultural bonds between Iran and Tajikistan, describing both nations as heirs to the ancient Persian civilization.
He also thanked the Tajik government and people for their support during the recent conflict and expressed appreciation for Tajikistan’s condolences and participation following the death of Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.
Referring to recent reciprocal presidential visits and agreements between the two countries, Araqchi called for greater use of their shared capacities to advance bilateral relations.
The Tajik ministers, joined by Deputy Foreign Minister Farrukh Sharifzoda, praised the strong state of relations between the two countries and reaffirmed their government’s commitment to further expanding cooperation.
They also welcomed discussions held with their Iranian counterparts and expressed hope that the agreements reached, particularly in energy and transport, would be implemented through a joint working group and agreed mechanisms.
