SAEDNEWS: Following intensive negotiations, Pakistan’s Prime Minister announced that Iran and the United States have reached a peace agreement and an immediate, permanent end to military operations on all fronts. The agreement is finalized and will be officially signed on June 19 in Switzerland.
According to Saed News Agency’s Political Desk, the final step toward ending the military conflict between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States has been taken. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced in an official statement on the social media platform X that Tehran and Washington have reached a peace agreement and finalized a memorandum of understanding following a period of intensive negotiations.
According to reports by ISNA and confirmation from Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, the most significant provision of the agreement calls for the immediate, complete, and permanent cessation of all military operations and armed conflict across all fronts, particularly in Lebanon. This diplomatic achievement, reached after months of extensive consultations, has generated widespread international reactions.
Prime Minister Sharif confirmed that mediation efforts have concluded successfully and that the formal signing ceremony will take place on Friday, June 19, 2026 (29 Khordad 1405) in Switzerland.
Meanwhile, sources in Washington reported that J.D. Vance, Vice President of the United States, will travel to Geneva to participate in the ceremony and sign the agreement. U.S. President Donald Trump also confirmed the finalization of the accord and announced the lifting of the naval blockade against Iran and the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. However, it remains unclear which Iranian official or officials will attend and sign the agreement on behalf of Iran.
Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, confirmed that the memorandum’s text has been finalized and stated that the mutual commitments of both parties will take effect following the official signing on Friday. He added that the text of the agreement will not be released before the ceremony.
In his statement, Prime Minister Sharif thanked both Tehran and Washington for their diplomatic commitment and expressed appreciation for the crucial role and support provided by Qatar, as well as the significant contributions of Saudi Arabia and Turkey in facilitating the agreement. According to him, mediators will hold a series of preparatory meetings in the coming days to lay the groundwork for technical negotiations before Friday’s ceremony.
The announcement of this major political and military agreement immediately affected global markets. Brent crude oil prices fell sharply, reaching their lowest level since March. International observers have described the agreement as one of the most significant geopolitical developments of 2026, with the potential to reshape the political and economic landscape of the region.
