SAEDNEWS: Asian sources, revealing a U.S. media campaign, emphasized that China’s stance toward Iran is clear, consistent, and unchanging.
According to political reports from Saed News, Asian diplomatic sources speaking to Al Mayadeen stated that U.S. officials’ remarks about Iran and Washington’s alleged success in convincing China to pressure Tehran are increasing and are expected to continue.
The sources said Washington’s claims regarding Iran’s nuclear file or an agreement with Beijing to keep the Strait of Hormuz open without costs are merely attempts at media provocation.
They added that China’s position on Iran is clear, stable, and unchanged. Beijing has completely rejected any discussions “based on U.S. demands” about Iran, and any reports suggesting otherwise are entirely false.
The source further noted that China decided to formally publish its position this morning through a comprehensive statement from the Foreign Ministry to clarify the facts for the public.
Regarding Iran’s nuclear issue, the sources emphasized that China supports the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, a longstanding position, while also stressing Iran’s right to the peaceful use of uranium.
On the Strait of Hormuz, they stated that China supports keeping the waterway non-militarized and open, while also emphasizing respect for Iran’s rights as a coastal state in the region.
The sources also referred to China’s imports of oil and gas from the United States, describing them as part of Beijing’s long-standing policy of diversifying energy sources.
They added that no country can replace Iranian oil for China, noting that energy imports through the Strait of Hormuz account for about 45% of China’s energy needs and have no substitute.
The sources further said China supports the creation of a regional security framework among Gulf countries without external intervention, describing this as a consistent policy.
They concluded that China’s calm tone is intended to restrain U.S. political rhetoric and encourage conditions for a potential agreement through economic incentives.
Diplomatic sources stressed that any claims contradicting these statements are inaccurate and biased, aimed at distorting reality to allow the United States to present itself in the most favorable light possible.
