Trump’s Early-Morning Threat Against Iran / Will the Ceasefire Be Extended for Another Two Weeks?

According to the political desk of Saed News, citing Fars News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump, after facing Iran’s firm stance in defending its national interests against his pressure tactics, once again resorted to threats to bring Tehran to the negotiating table.

In an early Tuesday interview with the “John Fredericks” radio program, Trump claimed that if Iran does not engage in negotiations, it will face serious consequences.

He elaborated on this claim by stating: “They (Iran) will negotiate. If they don’t, they will encounter problems the likes of which they have never seen before.”

Russia’s TASS news agency also quoted Trump as saying: “I hope they reach a fair agreement and rebuild their country, but when they do, they will not have nuclear weapons. We cannot allow that to happen.”

Meanwhile, earlier, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, said: “Trump seeks to turn the negotiating table into a table of surrender through siege and ceasefire violations; we do not accept negotiations under threat. We are prepared to unveil new capabilities on the battlefield.”

Possibility of a Two-Week Ceasefire Extension

According to Iran, Pakistani media have reported that Islamabad has urged Washington and Tehran to extend the ceasefire for an additional two weeks.

Some media sources have also indicated that Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, may announce the ceasefire extension tomorrow.
