According to SaedNews: Arsenal opened the 2026-27 English Premier League campaign with a convincing 3-0 victory over newly promoted Coventry at London’s Emirates Stadium on Friday night.

The defending champions took control early, with Kai Havertz putting Arsenal ahead in the 15th minute. Bukayo Saka doubled the advantage eight minutes later, before Martin Odegaard added the third in the 49th minute.
The match was officiated by Tom Bramall, who booked Arsenal’s Gabriel Magalhaes and Coventry’s Caleb Yirenkyi. Coventry, returning to the Premier League after years away, were managed by Frank Lampard.
Arsenal’s superiority was also reflected in the match statistics. The Gunners registered 19 shots compared with Coventry’s four, held 65 percent possession to their opponent’s 35 percent and completed 590 passes against 343.
The opening round of Premier League fixtures continues on Saturday with five matches. Manchester United will visit Hull City, while Tottenham will travel to Brentford.
