According to the political service of Saed News Agency, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a telephone conversation in which they discussed the latest developments following the military aggression by the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran, the announcement of a ceasefire, and possible ways to bring the war to a definitive end and establish lasting stability and security in the region.
During the call, the President of Iran expressed gratitude for the efforts of some friendly and neighboring countries to halt the military aggression against Iran. He also appreciated Turkey’s stance in condemning the unjust aggression by the United States and Israel against Iran, and particularly acknowledged the remarkable solidarity of the Turkish people with the Iranian nation.
Pezeshkian stressed that despite the United States’ betrayal of diplomacy and its attacks on Iran during the two previous rounds of negotiations, the Islamic Republic of Iran has continued to act responsibly and has accepted calls from neighboring and friendly countries to stop the war and establish a ceasefire.
Emphasizing the need to end the war on all fronts, including Lebanon, the President stated that Israel’s actions are aimed at igniting conflict in the region. He added that Islamic countries must act in solidarity to confront what he described as the Israeli regime’s warmongering and its threat to regional stability and peace.
Pezeshkian further noted that the international community and Islamic countries should pressure the United States and the Israeli regime to stop their aggressions and crimes against regional countries, particularly Lebanon.
He also emphasized that Iran’s responsible approach in accepting a ceasefire is aimed at preserving regional stability and preventing the expansion of conflict, and that its continuation depends on the other side’s genuine commitment to its obligations.
The President of Turkey, in this conversation, wished success, dignity, and honor for the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei, as well as for the government and people of Iran. He also offered condolences for the martyrdom of several Iranian citizens and wished a swift recovery for the injured, stressing the solidarity of the Turkish government and people with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed satisfaction with the cessation of hostilities and emphasized Turkey’s readiness to cooperate with friendly regional countries to continue efforts toward a definitive end to the war and the establishment of lasting security in the region.
The Turkish President condemned Israel’s aggressive actions as a clear violation of international law and stressed the need to hold the regime accountable for its crimes and aggressions against regional countries. He also highlighted the importance of maximizing the use of international diplomatic negotiations and stated that Israel should not be allowed to disrupt the negotiation process through its actions.
