According to the multimedia service of Saed News, citing Fars News Agency, on April 4, 2026 (15 Farvardin 1405), reports emerged about an incident involving the targeting of the artificial intelligence company Oracle Corporation in Dubai. This report highlights the company’s significance, operations, and its central role in the U.S. economic and technological system in the region.

Founded in 1977 and headquartered in Austin, Oracle Corporation is one of the largest players in the global information technology industry. The company operates in database systems, enterprise software, cloud computing, and data center hardware infrastructure. Over the decades, Oracle has become a major provider of information infrastructure for large organizations, with its products widely used across banks, energy companies, airlines, retail chains, governments, and technology firms.

From a financial perspective, Oracle reported approximately $57.4 billion in revenue for the fiscal year 2025. Its operating profit has fluctuated between $14 billion and $18 billion in recent years, and its market value has at times exceeded $300 billion.

Oracle employs around 160,000 people across more than 175 countries and serves thousands of large enterprise clients. Estimates suggest that over 430,000 organizations worldwide use various Oracle products.

A core area of Oracle’s business is database management systems. Oracle Database is among the most widely used enterprise databases globally, designed to store and process massive volumes of data. Additionally, MySQL, which is owned by Oracle, is used in millions of websites and online applications.

The global database management systems market is valued at over $100 billion, with Oracle holding one of the largest shares—estimated between 20% and 30% in the enterprise database segment.

In cloud computing, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure represents one of the company’s fastest-growing divisions. Revenue from cloud and support services exceeded $20 billion in 2025. Oracle is expanding its data centers across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, with more than 45 operational cloud regions. Each region includes multiple data centers housing thousands of servers with extremely high processing capacity. Some Oracle facilities use advanced GPUs for artificial intelligence workloads, with the cost of individual processing clusters reaching hundreds of millions of dollars.

In enterprise software, Oracle provides solutions for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Human Capital Management (HCM), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and supply chain management. These systems are widely used by multinational corporations, enabling the management of millions of financial and operational transactions. Many Fortune 500 companies rely on Oracle technologies, with reports indicating that over 80% of the world’s top 100 companies use at least one Oracle product.

In the hardware sector, Oracle manufactures systems such as Exadata Database Machine and Oracle Server Systems, designed for high-volume data processing. These systems can perform millions of operations per second and are critical for banks, research centers, and technology companies. The cost of deploying an advanced Oracle data center can range from tens to hundreds of millions of dollars. Large hyperscale data centers may contain tens of thousands of servers and consume tens of megawatts of electricity.

Oracle has also made significant investments in artificial intelligence, providing infrastructure for machine learning models and large language models. The cost of developing AI infrastructure is estimated to reach several billion dollars annually.

Rising demand for intelligent data processing has steadily increased the share of cloud services in Oracle’s revenue, with annual growth in some periods exceeding 20%.

Globally, Oracle’s products are used across a wide range of industries. In banking, Oracle systems handle high-volume financial transactions. In telecommunications, the company provides solutions for network and subscriber management. In transportation, many reservation and operations systems depend on Oracle technologies. In retail, businesses use Oracle software for inventory management and customer behavior analysis.

Additionally, in the military sector, some countries reportedly use Oracle products for managing population data and, in certain cases, systems related to weapons of mass destruction.
