SAEDNEWS: U.S. President Donald Trump has, since a certain point in time, removed the issue of supporting unrest from his public statements.
According to the Political Desk of the Saed News website, Donald Trump, the President of the United States, in recent days—unlike over the past month—has abandoned his claims of “supporting the Iranian people” or “protesters” (rioters) and has instead shifted the محور of his demands toward reaching an agreement on Iran’s nuclear and missile programs.
Everything began with a message Trump posted on January 2 on his Truth Social account. In that message, he claimed that if Iran were to shoot and kill “protesters,” the “United States would come to their rescue.”
In the following days, Trump’s threats largely continued with a focus on “protests in Iran.” On January 5, 10, 12, and 13, he repeatedly posted messages with similar content, repeatedly stating that the United States would come to the aid of “Iranian protesters.”
However, on January 16, he claimed that Iran had stopped what he described as “massacres” and had promised him not to execute 800 protesters. Trump also claimed that after being assured that the “killings in Iran had ended,” he canceled an attack that was supposedly planned against Iran.
From that date onward, Trump set aside the issue of supporting “protesters” (rioters) and shifted the focus of his threats to Iran’s nuclear program, calling for an agreement in this area—or, from Trump’s perspective, surrender.
This apparent change in tone indicates that, in Trump’s view—as a politician who places the slogan “America First” at the center of his decision-making—his country’s strategic interests matter more than the demands of Iran’s expatriate opposition.
In reality, he raised the issue of recent unrest and terrorist operations in Iran as a pretext to pursue the strategic objectives of the United States, not to create new duties or responsibilities for himself.
Of course, limiting this behavior solely to Donald Trump would be a mistake, as he represents a complete and clear example of the conduct the United States has demonstrated throughout history: self-centered and unreliable.
It can be said that the only real difference between Trump and previous U.S. presidents is that he does not even bother to wrap his goals in polished but hollow phrases such as “human rights.”
