Did the IRGC Play a Role in the Sydney Attack on Jews? A National Security Commission Member Explains

According to the Political Desk of Saed News, Member of Parliament Esmail Kowsari, referring to the recent shooting incident at a Jewish celebration in Sydney, Australia, said: “The claim that Iran or the IRGC were involved in this incident is completely unfounded. Iranian youth and IRGC forces would never allow themselves to carry out such actions in a foreign country and at a public event.”

As reported by Tabnak, he added: “The enemies of the Islamic Republic of Iran have repeatedly sought to pin responsibility for crimes they design and execute—often by hiring agents—on Iran and the IRGC, because Iran and the IRGC stand firm against global arrogance and international Zionism.”

Kowsari also pointed to the history of what he described as such scenario-building, stating: “From the August 19, 1953 coup to recent crimes in other countries, there are numerous examples of this behavior. The main objective is to promote Islamophobia and weaken Iran.”

The member of Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission emphasized the clear position of the Islamic Republic, saying: “Neither Iranian officials nor the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps permit harm to be inflicted on innocent people, and such actions have no place in our beliefs. This approach is evident in the teachings of Imam Khomeini (RA) and continues today in the positions of the Supreme Leader.”

He concluded: “If the media have accusations, they should question those actually involved in the incident. These fabrications against Iran and the IRGC will lead nowhere, and nations have come to recognize the true nature of these scenarios.”
