SAEDNEWS: The end times is a period associated with the appearance of Imam al-Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance). In hadiths, signs have been mentioned regarding women in the end times, moral changes, and their role in the transformations of this era.
According to Saednews, In literal terms, “End Times” refers to the end of an era. In religious teachings, however, it refers to the period in which Imam al-Mahdi (may God hasten his appearance) will emerge to establish justice across the world. Numerous narrations from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in both Shia and Sunni sources describe the events of the End Times and the appearance of Imam al-Mahdi.

In Islamic teachings, the term “End Times” is generally used in two meanings, each referring to a different stage in human history:
In this view, the End Times refers to a long period that begins with the birth of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and continues until the Day of Judgment. For this reason, he is called the “Prophet of the End Times.”
In a narrower sense, the End Times refers to the period that begins with the birth of Imam al-Mahdi (may God hasten his appearance), including the Minor and Major Occultation, and ultimately his reappearance and establishment of a global government based on justice.

In the first period, the world is described as being filled with moral corruption, injustice, and oppression, while many human values fade.
In the second period—beginning with the rise of the global reformer—conditions are transformed. Justice replaces oppression, and monotheism, social justice, intellectual growth, and scientific progress spread across the world, forming a society based on divine values.
According to various narrations attributed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), some signs of the End Times include:
Moral corruption among people and widespread social breakdown
Neglect of “enjoining good and forbidding evil”
Inversion of values: good is seen as evil and evil as good
Religious teachings becoming fragmented and distorted
Outward appearance of religiosity without inner faith
Wealth and worldly desires becoming dominant
Decline of honesty, trust, and morality
The Prophet is reported to have said that a time will come when religion will be reduced to its name only, while its true essence disappears.
Some narrations describe a period in which:
People prioritize wealth and material life over faith
Trust and sincerity disappear from society
Hypocrisy and showmanship replace genuine belief
Corruption spreads among both men and women
Social bonds weaken and family values decline
Injustice becomes widespread, including from rulers and judges

Some traditions describe a time when compassion will fade:
The young are not respected by the old
The strong show no mercy to the weak
Social empathy disappears
It is narrated that at such a time, God will permit the appearance of the Mahdi.
Some narrations mention that people will turn away from religious scholars, leading to:
Loss of blessings from wealth
Rule of unjust leaders
Weakness of faith among people
Other narrations describe:
Widespread fear and insecurity
Social instability and confusion
Moral corruption and normalization of wrongdoing
Religious ignorance becoming widespread
Signs described in traditions include:
Weakening of family bonds
Disrespect toward parents
Breakdown of moral upbringing of children
Increasing social selfishness and greed
Women and men losing traditional moral boundaries (as described in some narrations)

Despite widespread corruption, narrations also mention that:
A small group of sincere believers will remain
They will be unknown to society but guided by God
They will preserve faith during trials
Divine mercy will be granted to them
Many narrations emphasize that the darkest period of human history will be followed by divine intervention. The appearance of Imam al-Mahdi is described as the beginning of global justice, restoration of morality, and the revival of true faith.
