Russian Woman Marries the World's Most Notorious Serial Killer Despite a 40-Year Age Gap

According to Saed News, citing Rooziato, A Russian woman married a Ukrainian man who was 40 years older than her, despite his conviction as one of the world's most notorious serial killers.

Elena Bulkina has said that her husband's crimes never changed the way she felt about him. Her husband, Sergey Tkach, is believed to have murdered more than 100 women and girls between 1984 and 2005. One of the victims was only eight years old. Investigators found that Tkach used his position as a police officer to help conceal his crimes for years.

According to court records and investigative reports, Tkach sexually assaulted many of his victims before strangling them. Authorities also stated that he abused some victims' bodies after death. His decades-long killing spree spread fear across Ukraine until his arrest in 2005. He was eventually identified after attending the funeral of one of his victims, leading investigators to connect him to the crime.

Bulkina later revealed that she fell in love with Tkach while he was serving his prison sentence in northwestern Ukraine. She said she was drawn to what she described as his kind and respectful behavior during their correspondence and prison visits, adding that she chose to look beyond his criminal past.

However, Tkach's actions had devastating consequences for many innocent people. Three men were wrongly convicted for murders that investigators later attributed to him. One of those men reportedly died by suicide in prison after being falsely accused of killing his own daughter.

The couple married in 2015 when Elena was 23 years old and Tkach was 63. Under Ukrainian prison regulations at the time, they were permitted extended conjugal visits every two months. During one of those visits, they conceived a daughter.

Their daughter, Elizaveta, was born in late 2016 in Russia. Bulkina later explained that both she and her husband had wanted to have a child together. She also said that Russian authorities and her parents prevented her from bringing the child to Ukraine. Reports indicated that her parents sought legal action to remove her parental rights, although details surrounding those proceedings remain limited.

Bulkina also spoke openly about her intense jealousy, saying she would never have allowed any of Tkach's former partners to come near him if she had been involved at the time.

The unusual relationship came to an end in 2018 when Sergey Tkach died in prison at the age of 66. Prison officials stated that he suffered a stroke after becoming deeply distressed when his young wife suddenly stopped visiting him. Tkach had previously claimed that alcoholism had contributed to his violent crimes and said that his wife and daughter had become his main reason for wanting to live.

Following his death, Tkach was buried in an unmarked grave in a cemetery in Zhytomyr reserved for unidentified individuals and those without relatives to claim their remains.

Around the same period, Elena Bulkina disappeared from public view after posting a message on her now-deleted VK social media account claiming that a "secret world government," the Illuminati, and Zionists were pursuing her personal information and that she was going into hiding.

Recent reports indicate that she now lives in Moscow with her daughter, has changed her surname, has not returned to visit Tkach's grave, and has since reconciled with her parents.
