Russian Man Sets His House on Fire Because of a Cockroach

According to Saed News, citing Etemad Online, a Russian man who was conducting an inventive attempt to combat household cockroaches in his apartment in Siberia and intended to poison them all ended up severely injured and hospitalized after an explosion occurred in his home.

According to the man’s wife, he mixed several types of poison together in order, as he said, to get rid of the cockroaches once and for all. However, a chemical reaction was triggered that, instead of trapping and killing the insects, caused an explosion in the apartment. The man suffered injuries to his head and shoulder and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

It is worth noting that Russian social media has been filled with images of enormous cockroaches roaming various parts of the country, especially in the Krasnodar region in southern Russia, moving freely inside people’s homes.

Residents of Russia have nicknamed them “uninvited guests” and “mammoths.”

A woman from the region, while filming one of the cockroaches, says: “They fly freely inside the house and do not even spare soap anymore—they have eaten that too.”
