Iran and the United States, after the 40-day war, are now in a ceasefire period. Negotiations between the two countries to permanently end the war and reach a political agreement are ongoing.
Israel and the United States began the war against Iran on March 9. After 40 days, it was halted through the mediation of Pakistan.
With the start of the war, Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz. The United States also imposed a naval blockade on the entry and exit of ships to southern Iranian ports.
