Saed News: Axios media outlet, which is close to U.S. President Donald Trump, has claimed—citing American officials—that it has received “verbal commitments” from Iran regarding its nuclear program and nuclear materials.

Axios Claims Iran Has Given Verbal Commitments on Nuclear Issue

According to SAEDNEWS, Axios made this claim while observers believe the outlet is about to publish the text of a memorandum of understanding that does not appear to provide convincing content to support Trump’s earlier claims.

In this context, the discussion of “verbal commitments” from Iran appears more like an attempt to fill the content gap in the memorandum and prevent earlier exaggerations from being exposed.

An examination of Trump’s behavioral pattern shows that his approach has consistently involved rapid claims on social media and ambitious public statements, followed by behind-the-scenes retreat.

Previously, U.S. officials had also indirectly told Iran not to take Trump’s tweets as operational instructions.

It now appears that, given the wide gap between Trump’s initial claims and the text of the memorandum, his team is trying to avoid backing down from earlier political messaging by introducing the idea of verbal commitments from Iran, in order to suggest that their goals in the negotiations have been achieved.

Informed sources say that the published draft memorandum is so far removed from Trump’s initial 15-point demands that even pro-Trump narratives cannot justify it.

It should be noted that Iran has not yet made any decision to reject or approve the latest exchanged draft of the memorandum.
