Saed News: American television host Jon Stewart, referring to Donald Trump’s recent trip to China and his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, said that the US president essentially achieved “nothing” from the visit.
According to SAEDNEWS, Stewart on “The Daily Show” questioned Trump over the lack of results from his China trip and sarcastically said: now that daddy is back, everyone feels safe. His joke referred to Trump’s earlier positions against the expansion of Chinese technology in the United States. Trump had previously claimed that the Chinese social media platform TikTok was spying on American users and described it as a tool for interference in US presidential elections.
Stewart then added sarcastically about Trump’s China trip: he went to China for a few days and everyone was scared, but now he’s back and I’m sure he brought a lot of souvenirs from China, because as we all know, nobody in the world is tougher on China than Donald Trump.
He then aired a series of old Trump videos in which he repeatedly claims to be “the toughest US president on China in history.”
But immediately after, Stewart showed footage from Trump’s recent visit to Beijing, where the US president warmly praises Xi Jinping and says: you are a great leader… some people don’t like me saying this, but it is the truth.

In response, Stewart mocked the scenes and said: okay, there are different ways to negotiate. But what exactly did you get, Mr. President? Tariff cuts? Help on Iran? Rare metals?
The Daily Show host then referred to Trump’s interview with Fox News, where host Bret Baier asked him what the most important achievement of his meeting with Xi was, and Trump replied: the most important thing is the relationship. It’s all about the relationship.
Stewart mocked this answer and said: so basically nothing! You flew to China to negotiate trade war and global tensions with a geopolitical rival and in the end you just got his Instagram?
He continued sarcastically: tariffs are still in place, but now you are in each other’s “close friends” Instagram stories!
Trump’s China trip has sparked many controversies in the United States. Previously, TV host Bill Ma also analyzed the US president’s visit to China and his meeting with his Chinese counterpart, saying Trump was essentially softened in front of Beijing’s display of power and protocol, to the point that, according to him, “Xi now holds the cards.”
He sarcastically said the US president was completely “excited” in front of the Chinese leader. Referring to the warm atmosphere of the meeting, he added: Trump hates China, but he loves Xi Jinping. He described the visit as something beyond a diplomatic meeting, saying their behavior was unusually friendly.

These comments come as the Trump-Xi meeting has once again intensified debates about a softer approach by the US president toward China, especially after months of trade tensions and a gradual retreat from previous aggressive positions.
According to the Trump administration, the two presidents discussed ways to increase economic cooperation, including expanding access for American businesses to the Chinese market and increasing Chinese investment in industries. However, according to many US media reports, the meeting produced no concrete or major breakthrough in resolving key disputes between the two countries.
Analysts say no major agreement was reached on tariffs or ending the long-running trade war between Washington and Beijing. Some media outlets described the trip more as a diplomatic and political show than a sign of real progress in relations between the two global powers.
