According to SAEDNEWS, Nolan recently spoke about the new film in an interview with 60 Minutes. He pointed out that when it came to making this film, everything came down to scale, and adapting such a vast story required a massive production. Nolan said:

“In the end, it all comes down to scale. This had to be the biggest thing we’ve ever made. It had to be challenging for all of us, because that’s what the story is.”

He also mentioned Matt Damon in the interview, joking that they “worked him hard” on the film. According to Damon, this is without a doubt the most difficult project he has ever worked on.

The Odyssey features a star-studded cast including Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Mia Goth, Benny Safdie, Jon Bernthal, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Elliot Page, Himesh Patel, Bill Irwin, Samantha Morton, Jesse Garcia, Will Yun Lee, Corey Hawkins, Josh Stewart, Jimmy Gonzales, and Maurice Compte.

Universal described the film as follows:

“Christopher Nolan’s next film, The Odyssey, is a mythic action epic filmed across the world using brand-new IMAX filmmaking technology. It brings Homer’s foundational epic to IMAX screens for the first time.”

The film follows the Greek hero Odysseus, king of Ithaca, on his journey home after the Trojan War. While he is presumed dead, his wife Penelope and son Telemachus face suitors competing to marry Penelope in his absence.
