Israel’s Strike on Iran Came Up Empty, Adviser to the Supreme Leader Warns

According to Saed News, Ali Larijani, an influential adviser to the Supreme Leader and former parliamentary speaker, delivered a trenchant assessment of Israel’s recent strikes against Iran during the memorial service for Major‑General Gholamali Rashid in Dezful. Larijani characterised the attacks as “cowardly” and insisted that the combined efforts of Israel and its ally, the United States, had come to nought.

He argued that neither strategic nor political goals were achieved. “Their grand design—cultivated over years to fragment a great and ancient Iran—has collapsed,” Larijani declared, invoking the longstanding allegation of Western plans to partition the country. He credited the unity and resolve of the Iranian people for turning the tide: “For twelve days, citizens demonstrated unparalleled solidarity, exposing the emptiness of our adversaries’ ambitions.”

Larijani further contended that the military manoeuvres, purportedly coordinated by Washington and executed by Tel Aviv, had only exacted “a dear price” on Iran—referring to the martyrdom of commanders like Rashid—while failing to weaken the Islamic Republic’s institutional backbone. He lauded the armed forces for their “measured and intelligent” response under the Supreme Leader’s vigilant guidance, which, he said, had preserved national honour and demonstrated Iran’s defensive prowess to the world.

Closing on a note of defiance, Larijani appealed to divine providence and the sacrifices of the fallen: “Our victory is rooted in God’s grace and the selflessness of our martyrs.” He predicted that those who “plot against Iran” would ultimately be consigned to history’s dustbin, while the republic would emerge “stronger and more resolute.”
