If you enjoy bold seasonings and spicy flavors, it's hard to resist a classic Indian snack platter filled with vibrant tastes and aromatic spices.
According to Saednews, If you're looking for a flavorful twist on classic French fries, this Indian-style version is packed with aromatic spices and bold flavors. It's easy to prepare, and for a healthier alternative, you can bake the potatoes in the oven instead of deep-frying them, then toss them with the sautéed spice mixture.
5 medium potatoes, cut into fries or cubes
1 onion, finely chopped
3 garlic cloves
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 tablespoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon turmeric
Vegetable oil, as needed
Salt, to taste

Cut the potatoes into fries or bite-sized cubes and soak them in cold water for 30 minutes. Drain well and pat them completely dry.
Place the chopped onion, garlic, ground coriander, red chili powder, black pepper, cumin, and turmeric in a blender or food processor. Blend until a smooth paste forms.
Heat about 2 cm (¾ inch) of oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
Fry the potatoes in small batches to avoid overcrowding the pan. Let them cook undisturbed for a few minutes before turning them over. Continue frying until they are golden brown and crispy.
Remove the fries with a slotted spoon and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
After frying all the potatoes, pour off most of the oil from the pan, leaving just enough to cook the spice paste.
Add the onion and spice paste to the pan and sauté until the moisture evaporates and the mixture becomes fragrant.
Return the fried potatoes to the pan and gently toss them until they are evenly coated with the flavorful spice mixture.
Transfer the fries back to a paper towel for a minute before serving.

Serve the fries hot with an extra sprinkle of black pepper or salt, if desired. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley or cilantro for added freshness. These crispy Indian-style fries make a delicious snack, side dish, or party appetizer.
