Trump Claims China Respects Him Because Xi Jinping Thinks He’s Crazy

According to SAEDNEWS, Former U.S. President Donald Trump made some bold claims on Friday regarding his potential return to the White House. He suggested that if he were to regain the presidency, China would not dare to provoke him because President Xi Jinping knows he is “crazy.”

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal’s editorial board, Trump asserted that under his leadership, China would steer clear of any attempts to blockade Taiwan. He believes they would fear the consequences of such actions. “I would say: if you go into Taiwan, I’m sorry to do this, I’m going to tax you at 150% to 200%,” he stated, according to BBC reports.

Trump also talked about his relationship with Xi, emphasizing that while he has a strong rapport with the Chinese leader, he refrained from calling him a friend. “He was actually a really good… I don’t want to say friend – I don’t want to act foolish, ‘he was my friend’ – but I got along with him great,” Trump said, adding that Xi is “a very fierce person.”

In the same discussion, Trump reflected on his past interactions with Russian President Vladimir Putin, noting, “I got along with him great.” He claimed he once warned Putin not to invade Ukraine during a conversation, telling him, “I’m going to hit you right in the middle of fricking Moscow. We’re friends, I don’t want to do it, but I have no choice.”

Trump's comments highlight his views on foreign relations and the dynamics he believes he could bring back to the U.S. presidency.
