SAEDNEWS: Sotirios Alex Manolopoulos was appointed as the new head coach of the Iran basketball team.
According to SAEDNEWS, The Iranian national basketball team, Team Melli, has appointed a new head coach to lead them to success in the international arena. The 54-year-old Greek coach, Manolopoulos, has been chosen to take over the reins, bringing with him a wealth of experience and expertise.
Manolopoulos' coaching career spans over three decades, starting in 1993 with Papagou Athens B.C. He has also worked with top Greek teams such as Panathinaikos, AEK Athens, and Peristeri Athens. Most recently, he was the head coach of Romanian team Dinamo București.
The Greek coach replaces Turkish coach Hakan Demir, who previously held the position. Team Melli had also been linked with other coaches, including Marco Ramondino from Italy and Radovan Trifunović from Slovenia. However, in the end, they decided to go with Manolopoulos' extensive experience and track record.
