SAEDNEWS: The Iranian Foreign Minister of Foreign Affairs says the annual BRICS economic bloc summit is a special and important opportunity to strengthen multilateralism which is a key to his country’s foreign policy initiative.
According to SAEDNEWS, Iran's Foreign Minister has emphasized that the upcoming BRICS summit is a vital chance to boost multilateralism, which is central to Iran's foreign policy strategy.
In a report to the president on the recent meeting with BRICS member countries, Foreign Minister Araghchi made his remarks on Monday. He shared insights from a joint cooperation meeting that he attended, which was led by President Masoud Pezeshkian, along with key government officials, including ministers from various sectors such as road and urban development, oil, and industry, as well as the governor of the central bank and the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council.
Araghchi explained that participants discussed ways to tackle challenges and speed up the implementation of agreements and joint projects between Iran and BRICS countries. He mentioned, "I participated in a meeting that was to review Iran's joint cooperation with the BRICS countries."
As the BRICS summit preparing to kick off in Kazan, Araghchi noted that this event presents “a special and important opportunity to strengthen multilateralism in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.” He further underscored that Iran could serve as a reliable and strategic partner for all BRICS members, leveraging its vast economic and geopolitical resources.
After completing his regional tour, Araghchi stated that he will join a senior Iranian delegation accompanying the president to attend the BRICS summit in Kazan.
