SAEDNEWS: Iran and Bangladesh have strongly condemned ongoing Israeli atrocities in Gaza, urging immediate action by the Muslim world to stop the genocidal war on the Palestinian people.
In a phone conversation on Thursday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Bangladeshi counterpart Md. Touhid Hossain exchanged views on the unfolding humanitarian catastrophe in the besieged coastal territory.
Araghchi denounced the Israeli crimes, particularly the regime’s policy of depriving Palestinians of food and water. He emphasized the urgency of convening an emergency summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and activating all possible international mechanisms to stop the genocide and confront Israeli aggression.
The Iranian foreign minister also warned against Tel Aviv’s attempts to annex the West Bank, describing it as part of a broader Zionist scheme to erase the Palestinian cause.
He called on Muslim countries to adopt decisive and coordinated measures to stop the genocide and deliver immediate humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.
The Bangladeshi foreign minister, for his part, condemned Israeli crimes and stressed the need for urgent and effective action to support Palestinian people, including through the mechanisms of the OIC.
The two sides also discussed bilateral relations and emphasized the shared determination of the leaders of the two countries to develop relations and continue consultations.
At least 59, 587 Palestinians have been killed, mostly women and children, and another 143, 498 individuals injured in the brutal Israeli onslaught on Gaza since October 7, 2023.
The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former minister of military affairs Yoav Gallant, citing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the besieged coastal territory.
