SAEDNEWS: Following the withdrawal of foreign companies from Iran, Phase 11 of the South Pars Gas Field was completed by Iranian expert engineers, reaching a peak production capacity of 1 billion cubic feet per day as part of efforts to reduce the energy imbalance.
According to Saednews, Iran’s Phase 11 development project at the South Pars Gas Field, one of the country’s most technically challenging energy projects, has reached a major milestone, demonstrating the country’s growing reliance on domestic engineering capabilities.
The strategically located gas block, which carries significant geopolitical and technical importance along the Persian Gulf, was developed after years of delays and the withdrawal or failure to fulfill commitments by international partners, including France’s Total and China’s CNPC.
With technical operations completed on the final well at offshore platform B, gas production capacity in the sector has reached its nominal level of 1 billion cubic feet per day. The milestone is expected to help reduce pressure decline in the shared reservoir and contribute to maintaining stability in Iran’s national gas supply network during the colder months.
