SAEDNEWS: Famous Turkish Blogger Detained on Money Laundering Charges Says Jail Is Bad for His Skin, Requests Vitamins
According to Saed News’ social affairs service, citing the Akşam newspaper, Dilan Polat and Engin Polat, a famous Turkish entrepreneurial couple and Instagram bloggers with millions of followers, were arrested on charges of fraud and illicit financial gain.
Fifteen others have also been detained in connection with the case. The couple and their associates are accused of pocketing over 200 million lira using fake invoices.
The pair frequently showcased their extravagant lifestyle on social media, including lavish gifts such as a private jet Engin purchased for his wife.
During a midnight operation involving 150 police officers, authorities seized 24 luxury vehicles belonging to the couple. Dilan Polat’s penchant for luxury life even became a media talking point while in detention, where she reportedly requested vitamins, claiming the facility was bad for her skin.
