SAEDNEWS: Xi Jinping, flanked by Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un, declared the world faces a choice between peace or war during China’s biggest-ever military parade, showcasing hypersonic missiles and nuclear capabilities in a defiant warning to the West.
According to Saed News; Xi Jinping declared that the world is now standing at a crossroads between peace and war as he oversaw China’s largest-ever military parade, joined by Russia’s Vladimir Putin and North Korea’s Kim Jong-un in a dramatic show of defiance toward the West.
The two authoritarian leaders were among dozens of international figures who attended the event, which commemorated the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II – known in China as the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.
Addressing more than 50,000 spectators, Xi warned: “Today, humanity faces once again the choice of peace or war, dialogue or confrontation, win-win or zero-sum.” He added that the Chinese people “firmly stand on the right side of history” and vowed that China would never be intimidated by “any bullies” – a thinly veiled reference to the United States and its allies.
The parade featured a massive display of military hardware: tanks, drones, stealth aircraft, long-range and nuclear-capable missiles, including hypersonic weapons being shown to the public for the first time. Analysts say the message was clear – a warning to Washington, Europe, and regional neighbors not to challenge China’s “core national interests.”
The striking image of Xi, Putin, and Kim walking side by side on the red carpet at Tiananmen Square became the strongest signal of unity among three of the world’s most prominent autocrats. Analysts suggested that the appearance marked a possible “new Cold War” dynamic.
The event also carried geopolitical weight, as Xi used the occasion to promote global south alliances over Western-led blocs like NATO. Meanwhile, Trump posted on Truth Social, sarcastically wishing China a “wonderful celebration” and greeting Putin and Kim “as you conspire against the United States of America.”
Hours after the parade, Russian state media reported that Kim met with Putin, pledging to do “everything I can to assist” Russia, calling it a “fraternal duty.” Reports from South Korea claim that Pyongyang has already sent around 15,000 troops to support Moscow.
Xi’s speech also emphasized the “rejuvenation of the Chinese nation,” a recurring theme of his leadership that includes the claim over Taiwan as an inseparable part of China. Despite rapid modernization, China’s armed forces remain under scrutiny amid ongoing corruption scandals and purges unseen since the Mao era.
