According to Saednews, Schefflera is one of the hardy species of indoor ornamental plants. Under suitable conditions, this plant grows well, but after some time its leaves may start to fall and become sparse, which is the best time for propagation.
Schefflera can be propagated in three ways: by seeds, stem cuttings, and tip cuttings. In the following section, we provide a comprehensive explanation of its propagation, cultivation, and care.
To propagate Schefflera using cuttings, follow these steps in order:
Select healthy, pest-free stems from the plant and cut 8–10 cm long stem or tip cuttings.
Remove excess and lower leaves from the stem.
To improve rooting, dip the cut end of the stem into rooting hormone.
Plant each cutting in a small pot (6–9 cm diameter) filled with sand.
Cover the pots with a transparent plastic bag to maintain humidity and create greenhouse-like conditions.
Keep the environment temperature between 21–24°C and place the cuttings away from direct sunlight.
Ensure the soil remains slightly moist during planting. Avoid waterlogging, as it can cause root rot.
Maintain these conditions until new growth appears at the tip of the cutting or at the leaf–stem junction.
After about 30 days, the cuttings begin to develop roots.
After one month, when rooting is established, remove the plastic cover.
Transplant the plant into a suitable pot with appropriate soil, taking care not to damage the roots.
The best time for Schefflera propagation through cuttings is from mid-spring to early summer.

The suitable soil for Schefflera is loamy soil or peat-based soil.
This plant requires indirect light and is relatively tolerant of shade. However, occasional exposure to morning sunlight significantly improves its growth.
The optimal temperature range for growth is 18–27°C. If temperatures rise above this range, the plant requires gentle air circulation.
Schefflera has relatively high water needs, and the soil should remain consistently moist. In summer, water the plant 2–3 times per week, and in winter once per week.
Throughout the year, mist the leaves twice a week to maintain humidity.

Feed the plant every two weeks using liquid or solid fertilizers designed for ornamental plants, following the instructions at half the recommended dosage.
Spider mites and aphids are common pests. Wash the leaves regularly with soapy water. If infestation is severe, use insecticides such as diazinon or malathion.
This plant occasionally requires pruning, especially when it does not receive enough light. Pruning is done by simply cutting leaves from the base of the stem.
