SAEDNEWS: Images published by a U.S. media outlet show meals served to sailors aboard American aircraft carriers. Messages from crew members suggest worsening conditions and a noticeable decline in food supplies on board.
According to reports published by USA Today and cited by Saed News’ Society Service via Hamshahri, images and accounts have emerged showing inadequate food conditions for crews aboard two U.S. Navy warships—the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and the amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli—both deployed amid recent tensions in the Middle East.
Leaked images from the two vessels reportedly show very simple and low-quantity meals. According to the reports:
On the USS Tripoli, a lunch tray image shows about two-thirds of the tray empty, containing only “a small spoonful of ground meat and a folded piece of tortilla bread.”

On the USS Abraham Lincoln, dinner reportedly consisted of “a small number of boiled carrots, a dry hamburger, and a piece of gray processed meat,” which some social media users compared to “prehistoric fish.”

A family member of a Marine stationed on the Tripoli, identified as “Dan F,” told the publication they were shocked after seeing images of their daughter’s food situation.
In messages exchanged between a sailor and his mother in Texas, the sailor expressed concern about the near future, writing:
“Food supplies will truly run out soon, and morale will reach its lowest level.”
He also explained that crew members have to divide meals equally among themselves, and that resupply is not possible until the end of the mission due to the lack of port access.
The sister of another crew member serving aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln described the situation as serious, saying:
“The food is bland and insufficient. They are always hungry.”
The published images and sailors’ messages suggest that ensuring sufficient and high-quality food for thousands of service members aboard deployed warships has become a significant challenge under current operational conditions.
