According to Saednews, Pasta cake is a delicious and satisfying fast-food-style dish that is popular among pasta lovers. Despite its impressive appearance, it is quite easy to prepare and can be made at home with simple ingredients.
Ingredient | Amount |
|---|---|
Tube pasta (rigatoni) | 1 package |
Ground beef | 250 g |
Mushrooms | 300 g |
Bell pepper | 1 |
Onions | 2 |
Garlic cloves | 2 |
Mozzarella/pizza cheese | 1 heaping cup |
Parmesan cheese | ½ cup |
Tomato paste | 2 tablespoons |
Tomatoes | 3 |
Fresh parsley | 1 tablespoon |
Salt, black pepper, thyme, paprika, turmeric | To taste |

Peel and wash the onions, then finely dice them. Heat a suitable large pan and sauté the onions until they become soft and translucent.
Peel the garlic cloves, finely grate them, and add them to the onions. If you do not enjoy the taste of fresh garlic, you can use garlic powder instead.
Add the ground beef to the onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until the meat changes color and is fully browned.
Add the salt, pepper, thyme, paprika, and turmeric. Stir well to combine. If desired, you can also add a little lasagna seasoning at this stage.
Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth, trim them, slice them, and add them to the beef mixture. Sauté until the mushrooms soften.
Wash and clean the bell pepper, finely dice it, and add it to the mixture. Cook until all the ingredients are well combined. The mushrooms and bell pepper are optional and can be omitted if preferred.
Add the tomato paste and sauté for a few minutes. Finely chop the parsley and stir it into the meat mixture.
Wash and finely grate the tomatoes, then add them to the pan. Stir and cook until most of the tomato liquid has evaporated. Taste the mixture and adjust the seasoning if necessary.

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add a little salt, then add the tube pasta. Cook for about 11 minutes, or according to the package instructions, until the pasta is slightly firm. Drain well.
Prepare a springform cake pan and generously grease the bottom and sides with cooking oil. Arrange the cooked pasta tubes vertically and tightly next to one another inside the pan. Once the pasta is firmly packed, spoon the meat mixture into the tubes.
Sprinkle the mozzarella or pizza cheese and Parmesan evenly over the top. For a creamier result, you can also add béchamel sauce at this stage.
Place the pasta cake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F). Bake until the cheese has completely melted. Remove from the oven and let it rest briefly before carefully releasing it from the pan. For a golden, lightly browned cheese topping, turn on the oven's top heat or broiler for a few minutes before removing it.
Slice and serve the pasta cake like a savory cake.
