SAEDNEWS: Pasta salad is known in many countries as “Pasta Salad” and, because it is served cold, it is a popular option for parties, picnics, and light meals.

How to Make Pasta Salad for Parties

According to Saednews, Pasta salad is a type of cold salad whose main ingredient is pasta. In this dish, cooked and cooled pasta is mixed with ingredients such as cucumber, tomato, corn, peas, bell pepper, chicken, ham, or cheese, and is usually served with mayonnaise, yogurt, or lighter dressings. In Iran, pasta salad is commonly prepared with mayonnaise, with the difference that its base is pasta rather than potatoes.

Ingredients for Pasta Salad

  • Chicken breast: 100 g

  • Pasta or noodles: 1 pack

  • Colored bell pepper: a small slice of each

  • Small iceberg lettuce: half

  • Spinach: 100 g

  • Green onions: 5

  • Sesame oil: 2 tablespoons

  • Fresh garlic: 2 cloves

  • Lemons: 2

  • Soy sauce: 2 tablespoons

  • Salt, turmeric, and spices: as needed

  • Honey: 1 tablespoon

  • Tahini: 1 tablespoon

How to Make It

First, wash the chicken breast, cut it into desired pieces, place it in a pot with a little water, salt, and spices, and cook it over low heat.

Boil the pasta in hot water for about 5 minutes, then drain and rinse with cold water. Set aside until excess water is removed.

In a large bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, tahini, finely grated garlic, and fresh lemon juice to make the dressing.

Chop the lettuce, spinach, green onions, and bell peppers as desired. Add them to the dressing along with the pasta and gently mix so the noodles do not break, ensuring everything is evenly coated.

Refrigerate the salad for 30 to 60 minutes so it becomes cool and the flavors blend well. Finally, serve in a suitable dish.

This salad can be considered a full meal due to its nutritious and high-energy ingredients.

Cooking Tips

  • Honey and tahini are optional and can be replaced with a small amount of sugar or omitted entirely.

  • Sesame oil can be replaced with olive oil, but sesame oil gives a stronger aroma and better flavor.

  • This salad can also be made vegetarian by using soy protein instead of chicken, making it fully plant-based and diet-friendly. However, animal protein gives it a richer taste.
