Dissolve sugar in milk
In a mixing bowl, beat the milk and sugar together for a few minutes until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Prepare chocolate sauce base
Add cocoa powder, Nescafé (if using), and vegetable oil. Mix well until a smooth, creamy chocolate sauce forms.
Set aside some sauce
Remove about 8 tablespoons of the prepared chocolate mixture and keep it aside for later.
Add eggs and vanilla
Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the remaining chocolate mixture. Mix well until fully combined.
Add dry ingredients
Add flour and baking powder. Mix gently just until combined. Do not overmix, as it may prevent the cake from rising properly.
Bake the cake
Pour the batter into a greased baking pan. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for about 30 minutes.
Check doneness
After 30 minutes, insert a wooden skewer into the center. If it comes out clean, the cake is ready.
Avoid overbaking
Do not leave the cake in the oven too long, or it may become dry.
Add chocolate sauce
While the cake is still hot, pour the reserved chocolate sauce evenly over the surface so it absorbs well.
