SAEDNEWS: From now on, Instagram notifies users when someone takes a screenshot of their stories. This means that if you capture a screenshot of your friends’ stories, they will be informed.
According to Saed News, Instagram has apparently decided to make it easier for users’ followers to track their activity on the platform. Earlier in January, the company introduced an activity status feature in direct messages, allowing users to see the last time others were active on the app. Now, this Facebook-owned social network has made another change: if you take a screenshot of your friends’ stories, they may be notified.
In this case, Instagram displays a star-shaped icon next to your name to inform your friends that you have taken a screenshot of their story, as shown in the image below.
On the other hand, Instagram also notifies users who frequently take screenshots or capture others’ stories by sending them a warning message. However, it appears that this warning is only shown once. After that, if users ignore it, they should consider the consequences before taking further screenshots.

Despite these recent changes, it is worth noting that there are still ways to take screenshots of stories without being detected.
How to Hide Story Screenshots on Instagram
As some Twitter users have pointed out, if you set your phone to airplane mode before taking a screenshot, Instagram may not be able to send a notification. Another method is to download stories directly from Instagram’s website or access the platform through a desktop browser. Additionally, iOS users can use apps like Story Reposter to avoid detection.
It should be noted that this new feature will be rolled out to all users in future Instagram updates. Currently, only some users are able to see when screenshots are taken of their stories.
