According to the History and Culture Service of Saed News, during the Achaemenid era, the rise of industry and the emergence of various tools led to a remarkable growth in the creation of jewelry and adornments.

Achaemenid Golden Necklace

This necklace is one of the most striking examples of jewelry discovered from the Achaemenid period. It is composed of three distinct parts. A pendant hangs at the front, while a collar-like section lies flat against the neck. At the end, a long tubular hook attaches to two duck heads.

Achaemenid Armlets

Women of the Achaemenid era adorned themselves with beautiful golden armlets to enhance their elegance.

A golden armlet features a central curve, with both ends culminating in horned eagles facing each other.

Another armlet has its ends shaped like gazelles, while a spiral metal armlet resembles the heads of a cat or a lioness at its tips.

Gemstones of Choice

Turquoise, agate, and lapis lazuli were among the most popular stones in Achaemenid jewelry. After deciphering the inscriptions found, researchers concluded that gold was sourced from Afghanistan, turquoise from the eastern Caspian Sea, and agate from the Amu Darya region. The crafted gold jewelry was also traded with other countries.
