Ancient World’s Oldest Map Discovered in Egypt: A 4,000-Year-Old Masterpiece That Amazed Scientists!

According to the history service of the Sofiani News website, the creator of this map was an Egyptian scribe named Amenakhte. By charting routes leading to gold mines and the surrounding mountains, he provided an invaluable tool for extracting the mineral resources needed by Pharaoh Ramesses IV.

The map also contains crucial information about minerals, necessary tools and structures, methods for identifying these stones, and techniques for constructing transport networks. However, its main claim to fame lies in the fact that this papyrus artifact is considered the world’s oldest topographic map. Ancient knowledge was employed in the map’s design to accurately depict the structure of hills, cliffs, and terrain features.
