SAEDNEWS: The IRGC said it launched heavy ballistic missiles at a U.S. Marine barracks near the Gulf of Aqaba in Jordan, reportedly killing a large number of American forces. The group said the attack was carried out in response to a U.S. strike on a wedding ceremony in southern Iran.
According to Saednews, The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said its Aerospace Force targeted Camp Tibtin, a U.S. Marines base on Jordan’s Aqaba coast, during the second wave of an operation aimed at punishing the aggressor.
According to the IRGC, the strike resulted in a large number of American military casualties and destroyed several key facilities and attack helicopters.
The IRGC said the attack was carried out in retaliation for a U.S. strike on a residential home in Sirik, in Iran’s southern Hormozgan province. The residence was reportedly hosting a wedding ceremony, and nearly 50 people, including a child, were killed or wounded.
The statement said the incident had “revived the savagery” associated with the Minab school and Lamerd sports hall attacks.
The IRGC also claimed that U.S. forces had been defeated and were unable to confront Iranian forces directly, adding that retaliatory operations were continuing.
